A PhD-studentship
Modelling early
eukaryotic evolution using biogeochemical data - a systems approach.
Jointly supervised by Prof. Tim Lenton (Geography). This is a
computational project combining an Earth systems model of the
proterozoic eon and comparative genomes to understand the interplay
between geochemistry and metabolism of evolving eukaryotes. More information can be found here.
Application
deadline: 29th February 2012.
Informal
enquiries can be made directly to m.vandergiezen{at}exeter.ac.uk
Student projects and Summer
studentships
Students
who are interested in doing their final year project or a paid summer
studentship in our lab can choose between different project to get
experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and
bioinformatics. Please contact Dr. Mark van der Giezen (m.vandergiezen{at}exeter.ac.uk) to
discuss your interests.
Postdoctoral positions
Postdoctoral
scientists with a strong research record, who are interested to work
within the Mitochondrial Remnants lab, are encouraged to apply for an
appropriate postdoctoral fellowship:
Human
Frontier Science Program (HFSP)
EMBO
Fellowship (EMBO)
Marie
Curie Fellowships (MC)
Biotechnology and
Biological Sciences Research Council
(BBSRC)
Leverhulme Trust (Leverhulme Trust)
The Wellcome Trust (Wellcome)
The Royal Society (RS)
Visiting
Scientists
